A variety of Configurations to meet your needs
Single Computer
Dance School Manager will run on a single computer or lap top. This configuration is typical for a small school where the
laptop is simply carried around from home to office to studio. It has no reliance on the internet so can be run where
internet connections are poor or none existent.
LAN Configuration
In this configuration two or more computers access the data held on one of them using a WIFI or hard wired local are network in the office or studio.
This configuration is typical of an environment where different people are doing different jobs, the receptionist, the point of sale
Administrator etc.
WAN Configuration
Where the main computer is at home but a relative/friend/employee wants to enter information at their home then they can connect to the main database through the internet. This does require a high speed internet connection for data transfer, though many functions are possible with even low speed connections.
Full Internet Configuration
In this configuration a skeleton copy of the database is placed on the DSM Server, and this serves both the Parent Portal and the Staff Portal. Once the data has been uploaded the school data server (your computer can be taken off line.
Any updates to the data from either the parents or staff are stored on the DSM Server until your computer is connected again when any changes made by the parents are downloaded. At the same time any changes you have made while your computer was off line are uploaded to the skeleton so both your main database and the skeleton held on the DSM Server are kept in sync.
